David Sherrard DDS
David Sherrard, DDS,FAGD,FICOI was born and raised in Illinois with two sisters in a dental family. Dr. Sherrard often helped his father with dental lab work in the home basement lab. It was while working beside his father that the importance of saving a patient's natural teeth and building a practice on trust, one patient at a time, from referrals within the community, was instilled. Dr. Sherrard is a third generation dentist in his family.
More than just a dentist.Dr. Sherrard graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1980 with a Bachelors of Science in Business. After graduation, he worked for John Deere Industrial Equipment Company for ten years in a variety of assignments, including instructional system design, providing vocational-technical training and serving as a field representative in Ohio and West Virginia.
Becoming a DentistIn 1990, at the urging of his own dentist in Ohio, Dr. David Sherrard made a life-transforming decision. He changed careers and began pursuing dentistry as a third-generation dentist. He graduated in 1995 from Ohio State University with a DDS degree. From the beginning, his dentistry has been health based and involved getting clients out of the "emergency cycle of care" they had fallen into.
David Sherrard, DDS, FAGD, FICOIDr. David Sherrard has always adhered to the comprehensive training begun in dental school—enhancing it through affiliation with the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne Florida. He is a graduate of the Kois Center in Seattle, and the Misch Implant Institute of Beverly Hills Michigan. In March 2011, Dr. Sherrard was granted fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). In February 2013, Dr. Sherrard was granted Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
Dr. Sherrard received a private pilot's license in 2005 and enjoys travel, golfing, hiking, skiing, construction, and woodworking as well as home renovation having restored a 1921 vintage house.
