Talking is Harder When Your Missing Teeth Leave Gaps

Posted on 12/10/2021 by Life Long Dental
Talking is Harder When Your Missing Teeth Leave GapsMost teeth don't just fall out. Perhaps you have had gum disease for many years and your permanent adult teeth became loose and then they fell out. It could be that you've had bruxism, which is a condition when a patient grinds or clenches their teeth. This may have contributed to you loosing your teeth. It could be that you have had an accident or dental trauma and you lost some of your teeth. Regardless of how you lost your teeth, we have noticed that talking is harder when some of your teeth are missing.

Can People Understand You When You Talk?

It may be difficult for you to talk without all your teeth. Your speech may sound different, almost like a whistle when you talk. You may also have trouble pronouncing some words. If you do not like this, rest assured that there are options available for you.

Solutions For Gaps in Your Mouth

It all depends on how many missing teeth you have in your mouth. One option is to get dentures. This is probably the lowest cost option if you are missing most of your teeth. We could do a full set of dentures or a partial set of dentures. If you are looking to replace a few teeth, and they are in a row, we could look at using a bridge. If you have teeth missing here and there, we could look at dental implants.
