Secrets to Making Flossing Easier

Posted on 11/8/2021 by Life Long Dental
Secrets to Making Flossing EasierFlossing is a procedure each person should do daily, but people tend to skip this process since he or she brushes daily. People take the flossing process to be difficult and time-consuming as compared to brushing. There are things you can do so that flossing becomes an easy process. First, visit your dentist and learn how to floss and brush. It might seem odd and unnatural but some people floss and brush in the wrong way. This makes the flossing uncomfortable for them, the dentist will guide you and lead you in flossing.

The right type of Floss

There are several variations of floss and knowing which type of floss works for you is important. The dentist will help you in knowing the best type of floss for your teeth. If it is your first time flossing then there are two types of floss. The first type is nylon floss, it is stringy and breaks apart. Then there is polytetrafluorethylene floss and fits into the tight spaces. The nylon category has got waxed and non-waxed flosses. The waxed one has wax coating going over nylon strands and enables it to squeeze into the tight spaces and is resistant to breakage. The non-waxed floss has 35 small nylon strands which is twisted together but it's prone to breakage easily. The non-waxed floss gets into tight spaces and is a good indicator that the plaque is gone.

Use Floss Well

Flossing does not only involve putting a string between the teeth. All you need is to clean each tooth and clean the surface to the fullest to achieve the best results. Each tooth also requires you to have fresh floss so that cleaning is effective. The dentist will guide you on enough floss for your teeth.
